Garmin nüvi 750 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator Review
Garmin nüvi 750 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator Review from Susan Riley SueSeeCue. Don’t get refurbished – Buy new, I bought the Nuvi 750 Refurbished, thinking that Garmin would make sure it was in as good shape as new, with maybe a few cosmetic blemishes. Wrong! My Nuvi never spoke the street names, and at first I assumed that the 750 just didn’t support that feature. But after checking further, all 700 series are supposed to support text to speech, or at least that’s the conclusion I’ve come to. My Nuvi did not, and simply said turn right in 200 feet, the same as my old Street Pilot did.
Then the battery began to fail. After a two to three hour drive, I’d unplug the Nuvi, and get a low battery notice, and the unit would shut off. I’d plug it in again, travel for a couple more hours, and get the same result. The next time, it may show a full charge. But when I would take it in the house and turn it on simply to enter an address, it would take fully a quarter of the “full charge.”
I sent the unit back whence it came, and am looking for a new, non-refurbished unit. You see, these flaws didn’t show up within the 14 day return period, and I was not refunded the full price. So my advice, buy new. The prices are cheap enough, and you don’t save enough money, especially after you return it, lose your shipping, pay for shipping it back, and then pay a re-stocking fee.
P.S. I didn’t buy from Amazon.com. Shame on me
