nuvi 5000 5.2" Extra Wide Touchscreen Auto GPS Navigator w/Preloaded maps and FM transmitter Review from Edward A Slatten Goofnoff. Worthwhile GPS, I am a new GPS user, I used to depend on my mapbook…Well I still do, kinda. But the point is, I looked around for a good GPS and I found one…that being the Garmin Nuvi 5000…I was a little concerned about such a device. I am some what computer knowlegeable, and thought this little machine may be to much. I mean linking to a satellite and letting it tell me where to go…more over how to get there. Kinda scary for me…Oh I still keep my map book behind me…you know…just in case. But I think ounce for ounce it is a good thing to have…I read lots of comments on them…Mostly about Garmin, because that was the one I wanted. I read some that were glowing and some were kinda dim…So I figured what the hey, find a good one, buy it and use it…SO that is what did and do…Some folks said “Garmin lost a customer.” Ehh not me…They found a customer.
